WHAT WE DO

CNU Midwest strives for human-scaled, vibrant, and sustainable urban places.  We will aid leaders, developers, and citizens interested in rebuilding our existing urban centers and towns, in building new urban neighborhoods on traditional models, and in reforming sprawling suburbs into diverse, walkable and sustainable communities. CNU Midwest Chapter members and leadership will organize and participate in such activities as:

  • Networking and collaboration among professionals and Midwestern urban centers

  • Sponsor events that teach the principals of New Urbanism, especially with neighborhood groups and leaders

  • Represent the region at the national CNU National Conference

  • Engage elected leaders to remove barriers to high quality urban development

  • Advocate on issues within the parameters of the Chapter Mission and the Charter of the CNU

  • Develop placemaking and neighborhood activation efforts

  • Support the local development industry through research and resources

  • Drive membership building opportunities
